This time we were driving up into the mountain to explore the area and go for a walk or two. As we were staying the night here in Grimentz we had to pay tourist tax of 2.50 francs each but this gave us free access to a number of things including the gondolas, swimming pool, mini golf and more so it was actually a very good deal.
As we had the use of these things we decided our first thing to use would be the gondola. It was nice to look back on the town and have a nice view of the surrounding mountains. Making our way back down we thought we would indulge in a little mini golf and unfortunately Paul bet me! From here, we had a look around the town which was very cute and it would be nice place to visit in the winter as well, actually the whole of Switzerland would be.
We were really enjoying the town so we stayed another night. The next day we went for a two hour walk along one of the mountain trails which was quite steep but it felt good to get out and enjoy the countryside. With our free access card, we could also use the buses in the area, so we hopped on the bus up to the Moiry Glacier to have a nosey. Just as we arrived at the glacier it started to rain and there was thunder and lightening. Not really thinking too much about the weather conditions (as it was sunny down the mountain) we were only dressed in our singlet and shorts so we got very wet and a little cold. Very silly! Near the glacier, about a 45min walk away, is the Moiry dam which we had to run to in the end due to the rain. The water in Switzerland is beautiful and the dam had that aqua blue colour which is so nice. As I was a little cold and we still had about 45 mins before the bus was coming we headed indoors for a coffee.
Tired and weary, we soaked our limbs in the indoor pool before eating a spot of dinner and hitting the hay.
This is where we got to on the gondola
