Housesteads fort and Hadrian's wall


We visited the Housesteads fort which is believed to have been built around AD122 and is one of the best preserved military bases along Hadrian ’s Wall. Fascinating stuff! You feel yourself being transported back in time imagining where they would have slept, had dinner, worked and lived their life. Also how incredibly hard it would have been back then as it would have been so cold in winter. You can also see the wall stretching out for miles upon miles and it is still very much preserved. Brilliant place to visit and I think the lambs were trying to learn a bit about it too! (See pic below)
