Galway

After spending yesterday evening completing our chores, today we made our way to Galway city. Our GPS seems to take us on the tightest roads possible and today was no exception. We had driven for about 20 minutes when we got stuck in traffic as there had been a car crash. In situations like this I get annoyed by the people waiting, as they are all so impatient and in this case, kept asking the police officer when they would be able to get by. Someone has just had a car crash, and by the looks of this one it was very bad, and they are more interested in getting through the traffic...

Anyway, we made it to Galway safely and our first port of call was the farmer's market. The food at the farmer's market was too good to ignore and we splashed out on a delicious lunch of olives, cheese, hummus and bread, samosas, ham and mushroom focaccia and a raspberry Danish. YUMMMY.

With our bellies sufficiently happy, we went for a walk around the city and stopped by a couple of places on the way. One of the places was a shop that is the oldest producer of Claddagh rings. From here we continued on to the museum, although we didn't stay for long as we didn't quite feel in the mood for a museum. Galway is a nice city and it looked like it would have quite an awesome night life. If we were rich, we would have flown our friends over in order to have a good night out on the town!

But we aren't, so we decided to visit the Salthill Promenade and spent a bit of time people watching. Moving on, the weather was turning bad and the wind was shocking. We drove along a bit further towards Clifden and on the way Paul spotted a parking spot that had free wifi so we thought we would park up for the night.
