Cork city centre lies on an island in the River Lee which flows into Cork Harbour, the world’s largest natural harbour after Sydney

Notes: There are many interesting alleys, markets (Princes Market and the English Market are musts for foodies) and side streets (Oliver Plunkett Street has excellent boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars).

St Anne’s Church
Location: Church St. Shandon.
Parking: Disc parking is available on the streets around the church. Discs can be purchased at the Centra shop on Shandon Street and in the Church.  Easiest is to walk from the city centre which takes 5-10mins.                                                
Price/hours: 5 euros you get a music sheet. Monday – Saturday 10.00am-4.00pm. Sunday 11.30am-4.00pm

Notes: You get to ring the bells in the Church, world famous Shandon Bells. The four clocks on the tower are renowned for never showing the same time.

The Lough
Location: Barrack Street
Parking: Walk from city centre

Notes: Cork Lough is a shallow, freshwater limestone lake that is situated to the south-west of Cork city centre. The average depth of the Lough is one metre at both the north and south basins, and is a total area of 4 hectares. It is a well known and important wildfowl area. Many birds take refuge at the Lough, where there is a large population of Swans.

 
Shaky Bridge (Daly’s bridge)
Location: Fitzgerald park, to cross over to Sunday Wells.
